Business edition
The LeafLock PDF Business edition will be a self-hosted copy of the LeafLock PDF tools that your organization runs on its own internal server. Your staff use the same tools as on leaflockpdf.com, in their browsers, but the site itself comes from your network instead of ours.
It is in early access. We are talking to the first organizations about their needs before general release. If that sounds useful, get in touch.
Who it’s for
The Business edition is for organizations that handle confidential documents every day and need to be able to show where those documents go, for example:
- Law firms
- Accountants and tax advisers
- Clinics and other healthcare providers
- Public offices and government departments
What it will include
- The same tools. The Business edition includes the tools available on leaflockpdf.com, such as Merge PDF, Redact PDF, OCR PDF and Compare PDF.
- Served from your own server. You host the files on a web server inside your network. Staff open it in their browser like any internal site.
- No internet connection needed. Everything the tools need, including the fonts and the OCR model, is included. Once installed, it will work on a network with no internet access.
- Processing still happens on each user’s device. As on the public site, files are processed in the user’s browser. They aren’t sent to your server, our server or anyone else’s.
Why organizations choose it
The public site already keeps files on the user’s device. The Business edition goes a step further for organizations with stricter requirements:
- Data protection rules. Under laws such as the GDPR, you need to know which services touch personal data. With the Business edition, the tools come from a server you control, and no outside service is involved in handling documents.
- Client confidentiality. Professional duties of confidentiality are easier to meet, and to explain to clients and auditors, when documents never leave your network.
- Air-gapped and restricted networks. Some networks have no internet access at all, or block outside websites. The Business edition is designed for those environments.
- Independence from our site. Your staff can keep working even if leaflockpdf.com is unavailable, and your IT team decides when to install updates.
Price
US$499 per company per year during early access. The licence covers one organization, with no limit on the number of people who use it. Applicable taxes may be added.
This is an early-access price, not a permanent discount. It will rise to US$750 per company per year once Business includes single sign-on, a signed data processing agreement and PO/net-30 invoicing — the things a procurement team typically expects at that price. We’ll announce the change here before it happens, the same way we’ve promised for Pro.
What’s not included
We want to be clear about what the Business edition will be at first. It does not include single sign-on (SSO), an admin console or user management, or a service level agreement (SLA). If your organization needs something specific, contact us about your requirements and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can meet them.
How to join early access
Email us through the Contact page and tell us a little about your organization: what kind of work you do, roughly how many people would use the tools, and any requirements your IT or compliance team has. We’ll reply with the next steps.
